Spain is one of the top destinations for those travelling to Europe. It is a massive party destination but also has incredible architecture and history. Head to the vibrant city of Barcelona if you want plenty of action or travel to the coastal town of San Sebastian for all things relaxation, nature, and good food. Don’t forget to see a traditional flamenco show in Madrid and sip on sangria in Ibiza or Mallorca/Minorca!

The Best Time to Visit

Spain is a country you can travel to during any part of the year and you will have a great time. Of course, the best time (in my opinion) is to go during the Summer months where you can soak up the sun and enjoy the long days that bleed into warm nights. Keep in mind though that this will be the most crowded and expensive time to visit.

The official language spoken in Spain is Spanish of course!

Spain uses the Euro. ATMs are widespread and easily accessed. Most places will accept card, however make sure you carry around a little bit of cash.

Spain uses Type C and F plugs. The standard voltage is 230V and the standard frequency is 50Hz.

Spain is renowned for having some of the highest rates of pickpocketing in all of Europe. Keep your belongings close and you will be fine.

Spain is connected to all major cities via high-speed train. You can be in another city within a matter of hours. For a more budget friendly option, you could take the bus; however, the trip will take twice as long!
